A recent story on Forbes reports:
“The revolution in higher ed is coming, we hear, with education companies across the country aiming to displace the leafy campuses of yore—along with their six-figure price tags. Knewton is creating an all-knowing digital tutor while Khan Academy and Coursera give away a tuition’s worth of courses for free. When the dust settles and bright young folks are left with a whole new set of education options, employers still need to pick the best candidates from among muck.
That’s where Smarterer comes in. The company hosts a series of user-generated tests designed to evaluate your skills at everything from Excel to video marketing. Score well, and a nice shiny badge proving your proficiency at, say, Photoshop, lets employers know that you’re not fibbing about your cropping skills.”
Yesterday, the company announced that the’ve passed 10 million questions answered, and that they’ve raised $1.75 million in Series A funding from True Ventures, Google Ventures and a number of angel investors.
Head on over to the Smarterer blog for further details of their impressive growth and this recent funding.
